National Cash Register Systems

National Cash Register Company, or NCR, began its life as the National Manufacturing Company. It manufactured and sold the first mechanical cash register, which was invented by James Ritty in 1879. Within less than ten years, NCR grew to become multi-national corporation and quickly began acquiring other cash register manufacturers. By 1922, NCR has already sold two million machines.

Today, NCR is recognized by leading retailers, restaurants and other businesses as a provider of capable, efficient, high-quality, point-of-sale (or "POS") cash registers and other systems. NCR recognizes that its customers have demands for technology that meet their resources. The company is driven to deliver increasingly advanced capability in their cash register systems while working to lower the overall POS cost to the buyer.

NCR is also ranked first in the world in self-service cash register systems, automatic teller machines ("ATMs") and other kiosk solutions. They have developed systems for restaurants that will allow consumers to order and pay for their own food and retail systems that cover services such as scanning, ordering, purchasing and even making bill payments. NCR`s systems can easily be integrated with many of their other products which include printers, stands and other types of enclosures, as well as peripheral devices.

Any business seriously driven to improve or maximize their customer experience will want to consider NCR`s point-of-sale product line. The corporation revolutionized the retail world when it introduced bar code scanning 25 years ago. It can be relied on to supply products and technologies that will survive the harsh realities of the retail and restaurant worlds, all the while bringing affordability to the business owner.
